I have some questions about this Activity Feed:-
1. Do we usually put more than 1 Activity Feed (with/without Recommendation) across several webpages of the same domain?

2. Which would be the best webpage to place the Activity Feed? Home page? Or individual page (say like a certain product page)

3. Where would be the better spot to place the Activity Feed on the page of choice? Top? Bottom? Left? Right?

Hi, i have the same problem as PJ Robinson.

I’m having problem with some of the wall post not showing in my Likebox (the color scheme is dark) You can't see the text in some wall posts, it's there, but you can't see it because it's written in black and I’m using a black background.
Maybe you are aware about this? Is there anything you could do about it? It's a little bit tiresome when you have the Likebox on your site and the things we write don't show.

Jessica,

I believe that the social plug-in background is independent of the background on the web site. I have the plug-in installed on a site with a grey brick background, and the background in the plug-in is still black with no text showing. You're right, the text is there if you use your cursor to highlight it...it is black now instead of white. The text stopped being white for the wall posts about a week ago and, as I have said, they all have the same problem across the board. (Only the browser page descriptions on the links are showing white text. The accompanying wall text with the post is black.)

Unless the problem is fixed internally, there's nothing we can do on our end except switch to the lighter-themed plug-in. That will look really ugly on the sites where I have plug-ins installed, and I don't want to go there. I use a lot of dark backgrounds in my site designs, and the light plug-in theme will just look awful on them.

Hey, devs! Whatever changes you made that messed up the plug-in views...you need to fix. They were working just fine before. You know the saying, "If it's not broke, then don't fix it." You've done something to affect the code on the plug-ins where they don't view right...so how about addressing this? I'm not going to continue to use them if they don't work right. I would just as soon take them off the sites than to be forced to use the lighter themed plug-in for functionality's sake. You offered the dark version, now make sure it works right.

I'll give it until the middle of next week. If they're not fixed, the plug-ins come down. No sense having them if they don't work right.

PJ

As of Friday 7/8/2011, I noticed that this problem has been fixed...at least one that I viewed was working right. I was going to have to wait until this weekend to remove the plugins off the sites, so I'm glad I waited. I'm glad the issue is fixed, but somebody could have responded here to let us know...

I don't know what the FB people here would say, but I place them in ONE KEY PLACE on the domain...usually either the home page, or on the news page. One of my clients uses her FB page to post her daily schedule updates, so her customers know what times she has available for appointments. So the plugin is on the 'Daily Updates' page of her web site. Wtihout knowing what type of site you have, it's hard to say. It doesn't matter which side of the page it's on, but it should be clearly visible when the page loads. The rest, you just have to "eyeball it" to see what looks the best on your site.

If your page is all about the products on your site, then yes, you might want to place it on or near your merchandising so folks know to join you on Facebook about product news.

You can embed the plugin as many times as you wish, but it would be redundant to embed it too much. Key areas, where the information on the page is pertinent, would be best.

Just my opinions as a webmaster...

Need some help with this issue, as I haven't been able to find out any information regarding it.

I have a website with the activity feed on it.  The site has subscribed users (who pay for access) and non-subscribed users.

If someone on facebook, who is a subscribed user, shares a link to an image that is supposed to be behind a subscriber wall (so non-subscribed users don't see that content); would that image be visible within the activity feed -- specifically those non-subscribed users?

Basically, I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent subscribed content from a site from appearing within the activity feed.

I don't believe that FB has a way to separate the two. I think if you don't want non-subscribers to see it, you can't include it in your members area...at least not now, anyway. You'll have to have just a general usage fan page plugin, and occasionally mention that there are member deals availbable for paid users on your fan page....without getting into specifics, or having paid members "like" the item.

On second thought, only ADMIN posts on the wall show up in a social plugin. But on the wall itself...yes, the non-paying visitors can see the link post.

Hi,

I would like to integrate my company's wall status/updates into my website. I used the social activity module but it only shows random things like what the company's facebook friends like or recommanded. Instead, I want the module to show only the company status updates.

Notice that the facebook page of the company is a personnal account, not a fan page.

Hello,

Does anyone know how to use filter "Activity Feed" ?

For instance on this page I want to display only french entries (subdirectory /fr/):

The problem is if I put the filter="/fr" then nothing is displayed whereas they exist.

Here is the code:

I would like to host a contest on Facebook for the messiest room.  I would like them to be able to upload their photo and whoever gets the most “likes?  will win.

I am hoping that you may be able to help me with this, as I have spent all morning searching your help topics and discussions and have found nothing to help.

I look forward to your response.
